The first ever Winter Classic at Willow Springs International Speedway will take place December 9th featuring the Toyota Southwest Superlates. Drivers from all over the West Coast, ranging from San Diego, Northern California, and Las Vegas, have marked this exciting event on their schedule.
Throughout the year, the Toyota SWS series has grown bigger than anticipated over the course of 2012. With a growing purse, and faster growing field, the season finale is looking to be the biggest stock car race at Willow Springs in years.
Drivers of Super Late models, Late Models, and tour cars are all encouraged to join in on the fun. The events are competitive, family-friendly fun. With a relaxed pit area and caring officials, the goal of the series is to give the drivers a fun venue to race.
The 9-turn, 2.5 mile road course will play host to the series for their final race of the year. The 20 lap, 50 mile event is sure to be a wild one. Recent races for the series have proven the old saying "you can't leave a race early." Just to show anyone has a chance, the last race had two late models finish in the top three.
Practice will take place on Friday, with qualifying and the race on Saturday. Please visit http://swsracing.com for more information on rules, contact info, and more. Also! Click here for a video preview of the action on December 8th: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmJIoQQCKZs
Another advantage to this race is that it allows drivers to prepare for the Toyota SWS 2013 season, with great new sponsor announcements on the horizon. The schedule has been announced, and the fun is sure to gear up even more next year.
